He's known as "Vegas Michael." The 8-year-old is a straight-A 2nd grader during the week and a performer on Fremont Street on weekends.

He was performing this past Saturday night, impersonating Michael Jackson on Fremont Street, when someone left him a generous tip, telling him it was for his college education.

"I've gotten large tips before, but this was the largest I've gotten," Michael says.

He says that's when the other street performers noticed and harassed him.

"These dudes came up and said... can you give me some of that money? So we left and went straight home," he says.

His family says they went to eat at Outback Steakhouse and left the money in a bag in the car. They say they came back to find the truck with a window smashed in and the bag gone.

Police are investigating, but no one has been arrested. The family says it's not about the money, but Michael's costumes were also taken.
