The Nevada Department of Corrections (NDOC) reports a minimum security inmate walked away from a work assignment with the Nevada Division of Forestry (NDF) at approximately 12:30 p.m. on July 29.

36-year-old Juwan Ameil Stuart was on a cleaning assignment at the corner of I-95 and Valley View in Las Vegas, when he walked away from the work crew.

Stuart had been housed at Three Lakes Valley Conservation Camp located approximately 30 miles north of Las Vegas, Nevada.

Stuart arrived at NDOC from Clark County, March 23, 2016, and was serving 14 to 48 months for Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person.

Around 11:50 on Wednesday, escaped inmate Stuart was located in Henderson.

Investigators say after a foot pursuit, Stuart was taken back into custody with the help of Henderson Police Department and the U.S. Marshals.

Stuart will be transported to High Desert State Prison where he will complete his sentence and face new time for the escape warrant and possibly other charges.
