UPDATE MARCH 8: An arrest report gave more details into the arrest of Shade Tree's director of programs and education on a domestic battery charge.

According to the arrest report, Robert White II had a mark inside his cheek as if he bit it when he was slapped but he didn't have a slap mark.

His girlfriend had two knots on her face and a scratch near her collarbone, according to police. She told police she had pinched him with a pair of tweezers as a joke while they were getting ready for bed.

But then police said the two started arguing and she slapped him. The report says he jumped on top of her and started punching her.

According to police, when White was done, she says he took her clothes out of the closet and threw them on the floor.

White told police he pushed her out of the way but did not punch her.

The Director of Programs and Education at The Shade Tree was arrested on Sunday night.

Shade Tree is Southern Nevada's largest 24-hour shelter for victims of domestic violence.

37-year-old Robert White II was arrested after an incident with his girlfriend. White is facing charges of misdemeanor domestic battery.

White became a director for the shelter in November 2016.

According to the shelter's website, White worked as a CASA Volunteer with the Eighth Judicial District Court and Educational Surrogate with Legal Aid of Southern Nevada for the past 8 years as well as worked for Clark County in the Department of Family Services, Visionz Family & Youth Services of Nevada, and Head Start before the job at Shade Tree.

The executive director of Shade Tree Marlene Richter says White has been placed on administrative leave without pay pending the outcome of his court case.

"I hope what it will do is that it will help people know I don't take even a moment if there is a cause of concern. We take immediate action," Richter said.

Richter said White was put through a rigorous application process, including, background and finger print checks.

"All of those things were in order all of those things were followed," Richter said. "Our job it to protect the vulnerable people that we serve."

White is scheduled to appear in court on April 5.
