A driver was shot Friday afternoon near Gowan Road and Torrey Pines Drive.
Around 3:23 p.m. two vehicles were traveling north on Torrey Pines Drive. One tried to pass the other on the right, but as the vehicles were next to each other, two shots were fired from an unknown source.
The driver was struck in the shoulder with non-life threatening injuries.
Both parties were taken into custody by police. An investigation revealed that the two people involved were a landlord and a tenant. It was not clear which person was the shooter.
The shooter was arrested for firing at the other driver, while the other person was arrested on drug possession charges.
Correction: An earlier version of this story said that the shooting happened Wednesday when it actually happened on Friday.
