Delivery delays are frustrating when making a major purchase. Especially when it's something you really need. When that happened to one valley woman, she picked up the phone, and reached out to Contact 13's Call For Action.

"Very frustrated and stressed out," says Helen English.

She's venting about her struggle to get a new pair of glasses. She recently got a new prescription, and went to the same place her family has gone for years.

"They had to order a frame, and that was in March. That took about 3 or 4 weeks before I actually got the frame," says Helen.

But, there was a problem.

"The prescription wasn't strong enough. So I had to go back to my doctor, and she wrote another prescription," says Helen.

Helen turned in the new prescription, and was told it would take another week. But one week went by, and then another, and another. Before she knew it, a month had passed, and Helen couldn't get any answers.

"Each time I would call and ask about the glasses, they would say, we'll check with the lab, we'll check with the lab. It was like I was being put off," says Helen.

Meanwhile without her glasses, Helen was having trouble reading anything.

"I have an extra pair of glasses. They're an old prescription. So that was a strain for my eyes," says Helen.

That's when Helen decided to call Contact 13. Our Call For Action volunteers reached out to the business, and put helen in direct touch with management.

"He said this is ridiculous. I'll see that you get your glasses," says Helen.

Not only did Helen get her glasses, she was also reimbursed for her troubles. Helen couldn't be happier, and wants others to know.

"If you have a problem, call Channel 13," says Helen.

So here's the Contact 13 bottom line. When making any major purchase, always read the fine print. Make sure you fully understand the timeframe for delivery.
