Child on bike hurt after hit by car

UPDATE: A little boy is fighting for his life after being hit by a car in his apartment complex. 13 Action News is told the boy and his friend were playing hide-and-go-seek when a car going 75 miles per hour hit him.

 
Judea Myers says her granddaughter was playing with the little boy Sunday afternoon when all of a sudden, she heard the impact.
 
"She told me that there was a little boy she was playing with, Ethan, just got hit by a car," said Myers. "I heard the hit. I was on the phone and I dropped the phone and came down."
 
When Myers walked outside, she saw the bike on the ground, and the little boy face down, bleeding all over. At first, Myers heard no sounds come from the boy. But then, she heard him cry.
 
Myers says police told her the driver of the car was going at least 75 miles per hour when he hit the boy. Skid marks were left on the road from when he tried to brake.
 
"Oh my God. I prayed over his body. I mean I really prayed. And you know what, we have a good God and I know that the little boy is gonna be OK," she said.

ORIGINAL STORY: A child was hurt after being hit by a car while riding a bicycle Sunday evening.

The crash occurred around 5:40 p.m. at an apartment complex in the 6600 block of Boulder Highway, near Russell Road.

Police said the child was taken to Sunrise Hospital with possible substantial injuries.

The driver remained on scene.
