A woman's home was burglarized Tuesday, but now she fears she may have been targeted.

"The first thing I wanted to rush home for was my dogs," says Daniela Kamstra.  "They're small and I was afraid that something happened to them."

Kamstra's dogs were safe when she got to her home near Desert Inn Road and Hollywood Boulevard, but after a burglar broke into her home, her valuables were gone.

"It feels horrible, you feel violated," says Kamstra.  "A stranger is in your house taking everything you worked hard for."

Kamstra got surveillance cameras after her home was broken into for the first time a couple years ago. Now, they caught this most recent crime on camera.

The surveillance video shows a man running through the house, ignoring the alarm system, while he takes electronics, including the flat screen TV.

Kamstra says she thinks he knew he had enough time.

"i just think he had been watching me," says Kamstra.

She thinks the man may have targeted her because there hasn't been an unusual spike in crime in her neighborhood. According to CrimeMapping, there has only been one other burglary nearby her home in the past 30 days.

The burglary has Kamstra worried for her safety.

"I just feel very afraid, very upset," says Kamstra.  "It's a horrible feeling."

Kamstra moved to the United States 13 years ago, escaping crime in her hometown of Veracruz, Mexico. While Veracruz doesn't have the same reputation of crime as some of the northern Mexican cities, it is still very active in the drug trade, and cartels worried Kamstra.

"I thought, America!  It has a high quality of life, it's safe here," says Kamstra.  "This never happened back home, and I am experiencing this here in America, it's a shock to me."

Kamstra says she may be forced to put bars up on the outside of her home to make sure it doesn't happen again.
