A small business owner has essentially been off the job for almost a week because crooks took off with a trailer full of the tools he needs to do his work. And it was all caught on camera.

For Christopher Lewis, watching the surveillance video of the theft is not only infuriating, but there’s a sense of cruel irony.

"I did everything that I tell a lot my clients to do,” said Lewis.

Inside the utility trailer were most of the tools he used to help customers install security cameras at their homes and businesses.

Early Saturday in the dark of night, thieves pulled up outside his office near Dean Martin Drive and Warm Springs Road. And as if they've done it before, they casually began the process of stealing the trailer.

"It's even more frustrating to know that this happened and all you can do is just look at this video on a continuous loop,” Lewis said. “And see these guys for the scumbags that they are."

You see one man sporting brightly colored Nike athletic shoes get out of a gold colored Range Rover. Soon after you see another man get out of the vehicle to assist him.

Then, using what Lewis thinks was some sort of hydraulic cutter; you see them pumping their arms and shoulders in order to break the lock.

Then, in less than 10 minutes, they're driving off with close to $10,000 worth of equipment.

“They're scumbags. Just complete scumbags!” Lewis said. “You know, I work hard for my things and they come in here with no regard to me or for my family. I don't know how they sleep at night."

He's reported the crime to police, but he hopes by sharing the video someone will recognize the bandits, turn them in, and help him get his trailer back.
