9:00 P.M.

Las Vegas police report that a man is dead after an accident in the intersection of East Carey Avenue and Mt Hood Street shortly after 7 p.m. tonight. The driver at fault was taken to UMC with injuries, while an elderly man driving the other car was pronounced dead on scene. Police believe alcohol might be a factor. The intersection is closed as police investigate.

10:30 A.M.

Las Vegas police are investigating a possible double suicide outside a business in the 7300 block of South Pecos Road, near Warm Springs Road. The call was received around 7 a.m. Monday. The bodies are believed to be elderly people.

10:20 A.M.

Binion's was evacuated briefly Monday morning after a fire in a deep fryer. There was smoke on the 24th and 25th floors. No injuries were reported.

6:50 A.M.

North Las Vegas Police have Tweeted out that they are investigating a homicide in the area of East Lake Mead Boulevard and North Pecos Road.

According to police, a man walked into the 7-Eleven and started shooting.  

Police say a contracted security guard was on scene, returned fire, killing the man.  

Police do not believe robbery was a motive.  

6:19 A.M.

LVMPD reports that two people have been taken into custody following shots fired at a home near Wynn Elementary School. According to a witness, two males on a moped shot at a home located on the 2600 block of Duneville Street, near West Sahara Avenue and South Jones Boulevard.

Elaine Wynn E.S. was placed on lockdown as police looked for the suspects, but the lockdown has since been lifted.
