UPDATE: Atkins' death has been ruled a suicide. The coroner lists her cause of death as a gunshot wound to the chest.
ORIGINAL STORY:
A body was found at an apartment complex in the northwest part of the valley Sunday afternoon.
Police said the woman was laying outside in the 5900 block of Sky Pointe Drive, near Ann Road and U.S. 95.
She was identified as 31-year-old Keandra Atkins of Las Vegas. Her cause of death is pending.
She was face down in a pool of blood and the death appears suspicious.
"We're calling it a suspicious death because a person is deceased outside," said Lt. Dan McGrath. "She doesn't apparently live right in that immediate area either."

There was a partial trail of blood from a nearby black SUV to the building where the woman's body was discovered, said investigators.
Some residents reported possibly hearing a gunshot.
No weapons were recovered at the scene.
