A man is in jail after a shooting that left two people dead on Sept. 11, 2015.

It was reported near the 5500 block of Boulder Highway, near Tropicana Avenue.

Police arrived at the scene and found two adult males both with gunshot wounds. One male was pronounced dead at the scene and the other victim was taken to the hospital where he died.

Investigators say the two victims, along with a third male, were in front of a business when 32-year-old James Rachal walked past them. Rachal went inside of the business and exited a short time later.

As Rachal exited the business, he reportedly shot the two victims and then fled the scene before officers’ arrival. The motive for the shooting is unknown.

Rachal was arrested in California on unrelated charges when he was arrested for outstanding warrants in this case.

On Aug 17, 2016, Rachal was booked into the Clark County Detention Center where he faces one count of conspiracy to commit murder and two counts of murder with a deadly weapon.
