Las Vegas police evacuated an apartment complex near Nellis and North Las Vegas boulevards after a suspect barricaded himself inside one of the units.
Police say the incident stemmed from a fight between the male suspect, his girlfriend and his ex-girlfriend. They were all inside a vehicle together and then pulled into a location on Las Vegas Boulevard.
At some point; the suspect pulled a gun on his current girlfriend and fired a shot. The woman was not hit, but did sustain a minor injury to her face, possibly from gun powder residue.
Police say the victim ran to nearby store and called police and the suspect drove off in a Saturn. That vehicle was found abandoned near Las Vegas Boulevard and Craig Road.
The suspect was believed to inside a unit at the Cohiba Courts apartment complex located at 4320 N. Las Vegas Boulevard. SWAT arrived on the scene and units were evacuated around 8:30 according to one resident.
Las Vegas Boulevard was shut down between Craig and Nellis as police tried to get the suspect to surrender.
