People living in an apartment near Harmon Avenue and Jimmy Durante Boulevard, east of Boulder Highway, claim their unit is overrun with mold, and it's not the first time we've been asked to investigate the same complaint.

Alexis Afana and her family just moved into the Courtyards at Harmon apartments in May. Since then, they've been dealing with a water leak from the apartment upstairs.

Afana said the leak is causing mold on the ceilings and floor.

"It's kind of throughout the house," Afana said.

She's now worried for her 4-year-old son and father with disabilities. Her father said he thinks the apparent mold could be the cause of a recent hospitalization.

"This headache, my irritated eyes, everything is caused from black mold," he said.

Tenants of the same apartment complex have told 13 Action News about mold before.

A manager, who would not identify herself, told 13 Action News she was hired just days ago to take over management and correct the ongoing problems.

She plans to put a "plan of action" in place to get the family's problem fixed.
