Ammar Harris appeared in a Las Vegas courtroom this morning.

Harris is accused of shooting Kenneth Cherry, Jr. on Feb. 21 as the two of them drove on the Las Vegas Strip after a confrontation in the valet area of a Strip hotel.

After Cherry was shot, his Maserati slammed into a taxi and killed the driver Michael Boldon and a tourist from Washington state.

Harris' appearance in court this morning was very brief.

Justice of the Peace Deborah Lippis read a list of charges to Harris and appointed an attorney after Harris told the judge that he could not afford one.

Harris' next court date is April 29.

Relatives of two of the dead people were also in court and Tehran Boldon, brother of the taxi driver, became emotional during the proceedings.

Harris fled Las Vegas after the shooting and was apprehended one week later in Los Angeles after an intense manhunt.

He arrived back in Las Vegas early Tuesday morning and was booked into the Clark County Detention Center.

He is being held without bail.
