Toy Safety Tips
Parents need to beware when they buy holiday toys for kids. A doctor from HealthCare Partners says she sees too many children who choke on toys that have small pieces or long cords that can cause strangulation.
Dr. Muriel DeSimone says parents should check the age appropriateness of toys they buy this holiday season. They also need to be sure that safety gear like bike or skateboard helmets are the right size. Toys are not always labeled properly, so she says parents need to be extra vigilant.
