Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- It's been more than one month since Hurricane Sandy slammed into the East Coast.

But residents there are still dealing with the devastation. The American Red Cross continues to help out in a big.

That includes the Las Vegas Chapter of the Red Cross. They've sent numerous volunteers to help out.

Lloyd Ziel stopped by Action News Sunday to talk about an upcoming event that will benefit victims.

"Start Spreadin' the News" is taking place Sunday, Dec. 9 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at New York, New York Hotel & Casino on the Las Vegas Strip.

It's $100 a person to attend, and all proceeds will go to Sandy victims.

The event features celebrity chefs, and attendees can sample dishes and drinks prepared by those chefs.
