The Gay and Lesbian Community Center of Southern Nevada will host ARTrageous Vegas on July 28, 2012, featuring local artists in a variety of mediums.
ARTrageous Vegas is one of The Gay and Lesbian Community Center of Southern Nevada’s major annual fundraisers and a celebration of art in its many forms. This is the second consecutive year The Cosmopolitan will host the event.
Each aspect of the program is designed to provide attendees with elements to help broaden and challenge their perception and definition of art in a fun and experiential way. ARTrageous Vegas is an evening showcasing some of the best talent in the Las Vegas arts community.
The event will feature an exhibit highlighting works from emerging and prominent local visual artists. In addition, a smorgasbord of art - manifested in its many forms - will be located on the main stage and in multiple thematic salons: music, avant-garde fashion, improvisation, live performances, body art and more.
Gastronomy will also be celebrated this year at ARTrageous Vegas through a partnership with Wicked Spoon, The Cosmopolitan’s bustling culinary hotspot. Elevating buffet dining to an art form, Wicked Spoon joins top quality, familiar staples with imaginative and seasonal dishes, sure to satisfy every craving and appetite for culinary exploration.
“We are very happy to return to The Cosmopolitan again this year,” said Candice Nichols, Executive Director of The Gay and Lesbian Community Center of Southern Nevada. “Our event is one of the most important fundraisers and is essential to our operations. Without this valued partnership with The Cosmopolitan and the generosity of everyone who attends, The Center wouldn’t be able to provide the services and support that is so vital to our community.”
Tickets to ARTrageous Vegas are $35 in advance and $40 at the door. A special $60 ARTrageous Vegas dinner package with Wicked Spoon is available on advance purchase only, now through July 27. Tickets can be purchased on The Center’s website at www.thecenterlv.com. All attendees must be over the age of 18.
