XenArt: The Energy of Art
XYIENCE Xenergy, the official energy drink of the UFC ® is launching XenArt: The Energy of Art, a national juried art exhibition. Submissions can be two-dimensional (2D), three-dimensional (3D), and photography. Accepted submissions must interpret the contest's theme and the brand's tagline: Power to Win™. Pieces must also feature the Xenergy can or be constructed of empty Xenergy cans. Entry forms and digital submissions will be accepted through Monday, August 6 at 5 pm at www.facebook.com/XYIENCE.
The contest is free to enter and is open to all artists over the age of 18 who reside in the United States. One grand prizewinner will receive $1,000 plus a one-year supply of XYIENCE Xenergy.
Twenty finalists will be selected during the first round of judging. Finalists will be notified by XYIENCE on Monday, August 13. A jury will review the 20 finalists and select the top three winners; work will be evaluated based on originality, creativity and interpretation of concept/theme; quality of composition/construction and overall artistic quality. The winners will be announced on Friday, August 31.
Finalists will be showcased at the XenArt: The Energy of Art show and VIP red carpet reception on Friday, August 31 at the Amanda Harris Gallery of Contemporary Art and The Lady Silvia in downtown Las Vegas. (900 S. Las Vegas Boulevard) The event is hosted by UFC fighter and XYIENCE athlete Dan Hardy and is by invitation only from 7 to 10 p.m. and is open to the public after 10 p.m. Winners will be announced at 8:30 p.m.
The evening will also include a special showcase of artists who are part of the mixed martial arts (MMA) industry. The event coincides with UFC® 151: Jones vs. Henderson, which takes place on Saturday, September 1, 2012, at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas.
