Elementary school student keeps promise for better toilet paper
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A local girl is gearing up for the biggest speech of her young life.
Maria Staubs is running for student body president at Scherkenbach Elementary School, near North Fort Apache Road and Iron Mountain.
Staubs has a strong record on her side though. Last year, she promised the students that if she was elected as vice president, she would get better toilet paper for the school.
Staubs was elected and after months of letter writing and lemonade stands, Staubs got word from Station Casinos and Brady Industries that they would refill her request.
Brady Industries recently delivered a year's supply of toilet paper to the school.
Not only that, the school also got new toilet paper dispensers for the bathrooms, which Staubs got to choose.
The school principal said that they did not have a shortage of toilet paper but that was not the point. Staubs made a campaign promise for better toilet paper and then worked to keep her promise.
She is now running for president and her campaign sign proudly boasts that she kept her promise for better toilet paper.
Staubs will be giving a speech to the student body on Thursday.
