Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- There is a new study that lists the college majors that produce the highest paychecks.
Money isn't everything but tuition prices keep going up and student debt is at an all-time high. So, it would be nice if college students were guaranteed to have a high-paying job after graduation.
If you choose to major in math or a science-related field, it just might happen.
The median pay for a new college grad with a full-time job in 2010 was $54,000. Pre-med grads made much more than that. They have a median pay of $100,000.
Engineering, pharmacy and computer science grads also pulled in higher paychecks. But, don't worry if you are more of a liberal arts person.
According to the college majors handbook, history and English majors made significantly less money but had higher job satisfaction than other graduates.
And regardless of your major, just having a bachelors degree gets you about 80% more than someone with a high school diploma.
