Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- There are a lot of people who diet and exercise but still can't seem to shed the unwanted pounds. Could the answer be to change the color of your plate or the music that you listen to?

The British Nutrition Foundation has released a list of 100 factors that can influence weight.

Some are fairly obvious. Eat smaller portions and chew your food more.

But, there are some other findings. For example, if your food is the same color of your plate, you are likely to eat more. So, it is better to put red spaghetti on a green plate -- it will be more psychologically filling.

If you listen to fast music when you eat, you are likely to eat more. So, you may want to switch to slower songs at meal time.

Another tip is to eat next to a mirror. Doing so will help you to eat less.

As for what you eat, adding cayenne pepper to your meal can help you to burn calories faster. And, there are compounds in tea that help reduce cholesterol.

But, proteins in milk neutralize those compounds so it is better to drink your tea black.

And, here is one finding that might be good around breakfast time. Lots of people eat cereal but then find themselves hungry before lunchtime.

The protein in an egg tends to keep you feeling fuller longer. So, if you have an egg for breakfast, you will probably eat less calories over the rest of the day.
