Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Dermatologist have been spreading the word about the dangers of sun exposure for years. But many people are still tanorexic.

Many people say that tanning not only gives them a glow, it also hides some skin imperfections and masks cellulite.

And that is why so many people go to tanning booths or soak in the sun.

Doctors say that people who tan all the time -- tanorexics -- may actually suffer from body dysmorphic disorder where people have a preoccupation with a perceived defect in their bodies and the focus becomes excessive.

They also say that tanning can be an addiction just like smoking and alcoholism.

Studies on indoor tanning show that those who suffer from tanorexia enjoy the endorphin release.

Dermatologists say that if you have to tan, use common sense. Limit yourself to 30 minutes in the sun and wear sunscreen that fights off booth UVA and UVB rays,
