Apps help make summertime a little safer
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Summer should be a time to have fun and leave your worries behind. But, there are dangers associated with heat, travel and time spent in the water.
If you take a little time to download some apps now, it might save you some headaches later on.
The Sunwise app from the Environmental Protection Agency gives you daily and hourly forecasts for U-V rays wherever you are or wherever you are headed.
That could go hand-in-hand with the Suntan Watcher app for iPhone. It is basically an alarm that you can set up to remind you when to turn over when you are laying out or when to reapply sunscreen.
The Bike Safety app for iPhone has tips on how to stay safe on two wheels for both kids and adults.
And the American Red Cross has created the S-O-S app for the Android. It can't replace professional help but it has quick answers on lots of summer emergencies like bug bites and barbecue burns.
There are new apps created all the time. So, if there is something you wish you had, it is worth doing a search to see if there is an app.
