Young Mariachi group showcases their talents
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- When we think of school music programs, most people think of orchestras, marching bands and choirs, but there's another flavor of music that's exploding in our schools: Mariachi.
Members of Mariachi Los Bravos de J.D. Smith Middle School was at Action News Friday to showcase their great talents.
This is one of the oldest Mariachi programs in the Clark County School District.
According to their website, since its inception in 2002, the Mariachi program has grown to nearly 300 students making it one of the more popular programs at the school and in the Hispanic community in Las Vegas.
