AUG. 5 UPDATE: Clark County firefighters recovered the body of a person swept away during yesterday's storm near Sahara Avenue and Lamb Boulevard.

Details about the deceased victim will be released by the Clark County Coroner.

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) -- This is a roundup of all weather-related breaking news in Southern Nevada on August 4.

4:59 P.M.

Officials have opened up one lane in each direction on Highway 160 at Tecopa Road.

4:35 P.M.

Pahrump firefighters say that Highway 160 is closed due to flooding at Tecopa Road. About 100 vehicles are stopped near the area waiting for the water to recede.

4:14 P.M.

Lee Canyon announced that they will be closed on August 5-6 due to heavy rainfall.

3:44 P.M.

Lightning struck a palm tree at 1325 South Maryland Parkway around 1:15 p.m. Burning embers feel onto the roof of an office building, causing a fire. Damage was estimated at $20,000.

3:16 P.M.

Clark County fire officials say that all six people have been rescued from the wash near the Linq. The person swept away by the wash near Siegel Suites is still missing.

3:00 P.M.

McCarran Airport officials say that flights have been delayed 45 minutes to 1 hour. They also say that delays may increase.

Refueling trucks are not being allowed on to the tarmac due to nearby lightning strikes.

Not all planes have been grounded, but the delay in refueling planes has caused a backup.

2:59 P.M.

Mt. Charleston Fire Protection District officials say that heavy rains are causing flooding and leaving debris on the roadways.

Residents are advised not to travel on Highways 156 or 157 unless absolutely necessary. Fire Chief Jorge Gonzalez says that those driving on Mt. Charleston roads should use extreme caution.

2:47 P.M.

Clark County Firefighters are responding after several people were swept away by rushing water in the Las Vegas valley.

Around 1:31 p.m., four people were rescued from the wash behind the Linq hotel-casino. One person is still reported missing.

Then around 2 p.m., one person was rescued from the wash near the Siegel Suites at 3625 Boulder Highway. They were taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. Another person is still reported missing.

Both rescues are ongoing. More information to come.
