UPDATE ON MARCH 22: The Clark County coroner has identified the motorcyclists killed near Lake Mead as 63-year-old William Scott Purden and 67-year-old Drew Cahoon, both from St. George, Utah.

ORIGINAL STORY

Two motorcyclists have died after a crash near Lake Mead Tuesday afternoon.

Two motorcycles went off Northshore Road, also known as State Route 167, near Mile Marker 31 around 12:45 p.m. One was a Harley and the other motorcycle was a Honda.

One male rider was pronounced deceased on scene while the other male rider was flown to University Medical Center where he died.

The National Park Service, Nevada Highway Patrol and Clark County Fire Department responded to the scene.

The cause of this incident is under investigation by Lake Mead National Recreation Area and Nevada Highway Patrol. The Clark County Coroner will confirm the victims’ identities and determine cause of death.
