According to statistics from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, there have been some 40 burglaries over the past 60 days. And not just of people's cars.

Homes are also being broken into. One woman's neighbors on both sides were burglarized.

One man lives across the street from a house that was hit last week. He also shard an email with Action News from a friend who lives two streets down. That person's house was also broken into.

The break-ins are so rampant that assemblywoman Maggie Carlton brought in the Las Vegas police to meet with residents. They have been sharing their close calls with her too.

At the meeting Wednesday night, the police handed out flyers to the residents that included tips on how to keep themselves and their homes safe.
