Residents locked out after vandals strike pool
Henderson, NV (KTNV) -- Residents of a Henderson apartment complex are upset management has prevented them from using pool.
The management company for Horizon Hills admits they locked the entrances to the pool to prove a point after someone repeatedly poured soap in the drains.
Those who live closest to it say that there was no vandalism and the pool is just fine.
“I think it's got something to do with something else that they're not telling us,” said resident Catherine Guerra. “I think they just put vandalism down as the reason.”
Residents are more frustrated about being charged for something they’re prevented from using.
The reason why we have the apartment looking over the pool is so that we could use the pool,” said Darren Heyman. “The fact that we can’t use the pool is just very inconvenient.”
“I feel like it’s not fair because I get charged more because I live by the pool,” Guerra said.
The management company for Horizon Hills tells us the pool will remain closed until July 1.
They hope to curb vandalism by replacing old keys with electronic gate cards.
