Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) - Are you tired of battling traffic going into work every day? Or maybe you just want to spend more time with your family? Tonight, Contact 13 looks at some great work from home opportunities for 2017.

Ann Poirier is a mom of a 1-year-old.

"You can play peekaboo with Paul," says Ann.

She didn't want to be away from her daughter 10 hours a day. So Ann went to FlexJobs. Now she works part time writing training manuals for major companies.

"You can pick and choose articles based on how much time you have and how much ability you have," says Ann.

Forbes Magazine says 24% of workers are now doing at least some of their job from home.

The companies offering the most home-based jobs for 2017 are: Appen, LiveOps, Amazon, TeleTech, VIPKID, LanguageLine, Working Solutions, Kelly Services and Sutherland Global.

The majority of available positions are customer service and sales jobs.

Kali Sassack is a home based pharmacist for health insurer, Humana.

"It's very nice for work-life balance. I have a young family at home, and the extra time I get to spend not driving is invaluable," says Kali.

Forbes says health insurers are among the biggest remote employers, including United Health Care, Aetna, and Humana.

Kali's job is to give patients advice on their medications, and she says she loves it.

"I have an extra 10 hours a week I get to spend with my husband and son, and you can't put a price tag on that," says Kali.

When you apply for any work from home position just be careful of all the online scams out there. Beware of anyone requesting an up-front fee or promising easy money.
