Judge Elizabeth Halverson is recovering from severe injuries at Sunrise Hospital.
Thursday night, police say her husband Edward attempted to kill her by beating her with a frying pan.
Halverson's close friend Bobbi Tackett says she has visited Elizabeth Halverson in the hospital.
She says Elizabeth is in bad condition with stitches all over her head, and she has bruises all over her body.
Halverson had to have surgery for skull fractures.
