
Las Vegas, NV -- Clark County School Police tell Action News that a student was arrested for carrying a gun in school. Police say the student was arrested at Cimarron - Memorial High School in the Northwest side of the valley Thursday just before noon.
Police tell Action News that the teen was found carrying the handgun in a hallway. It was an unloaded 25 caliber handgun. The school sent home a letter with kids to let them know about the situation.
Students who know the kid say he brought the gun to school because he is a victim of bullying.
CCSD Police say this is the 11th case of a student bringing a caliber gun to campus this school year. Last year they had 6.
In the case of BB and pellet guns, last year there were 48 cases, and this year they have only seen 16.
