NYE COUNTY, NV - The search is on for 18 month old Julian Alarid and his father, Stephen Alarid.  47 year old Stephen Alarid is a white male, 5'10", 200 pounds and is described to have a medium build. Alarid has a shaved head and brown eyes.

He is possibly driving a Gray Dodge or Ford Van without plates and may be headed to New Mexico. In November 2008, Julian was taken by his dad and it triggered an Amber Alert. Julian was safely returned and according to Julian's mom, Stacey Walker, all the charges against Stephen were dropped.

"So they released him and that gave him access to Julian all the time," explained Stacey who talked to Action News Friday night, just hours after her son went missing.

Stacey is in the process of moving and says Stephen was at her home in Pahrump because he was going to give her a ride but then something unexpectedly went wrong and Stephen took off. The couple has been married for four years, but are now separated. Stacey says Stephen beat her in the past and alleges she has even filed assault charges against him, and now fears for child's safety.

Initially an Amber Alert was issued for Julian. However, since the couple is still married, that Amber Alert was canceled.
