NAACP To Hold Workshop For Homeowners

The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP ) Las Vegas Branch 1111,  a strong community advocacy group dedicated to outreach efforts that assist community residents,  HUD, various community groups and non-profit organizations  will hold a community workshop presenting foreclosure options, loan modification, first time home  buyers programs and refinance tools on June 1, 2009 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the West Las  Vegas Library Theatre, 951 W Lake Mead Blvd, Las Vegas NV 89106.

"The goal of the event is to educate and inform residents on the various housing programs available to them," said Frank Hawkins, President NAACP Las Vegas Chapter. "The workshop will focus on financial literacy, for the first time home buyer programs, loan modification, refinance, down payment assistance and credit counseling."

Foreclosure prevention counselors will be on site to answer any questions. Community members are encouraged to attend and ask questions of these extremely knowledgeable and qualified panelists.  Lenders, HUD-certified counselors and a number of non-profit representatives set to provide counseling and workshop sessions will be in attendance.
