Lutheran Social Services of Nevada Hosts Open Air Market for low income families and seniors. They will be able to get food, vendor-based health services and employment advice, free of charge, at Lutheran Social Services of Nevada’s (LSSN) Open Air Market on Tuesday, May 28, from 9 a.m. to noon, in the LSSN parking lot, located at 73 Spectrum Boulevard, Las Vegas, NV 89101. The market features canned goods, cereals, pasta, rice, sauces, fresh fruits and vegetables, packaged salads, prepared meals, breads, and more. Free services include eye exams and diabetes screenings; PIMA Medical Institute blood pressure and glucose check-ups; Goodwill Career Connections, job search and resume building; Transparent Mental Health, qualifying clients for services, and Medicaid help; Hope Counseling, promote agency programs; Unite Me Now, cell phones for those that qualify; and chiropractic evaluations. LSSN distributes approximately 20,000 meals per month at its food pantry, which has a supermarket feel. The pantry is open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
