PSA: Memorial Run for Vets
The Veterans Memorial was erected on public lands in the Mojave Desert to acknowledge the sacrifice of life, liberty and pursuit of happiness paid by our fallen soldiers, sailors and Marines.
”The goal of avoiding governmental endorsement [of religion] does not require eradication of all religious symbols in the public realm”- U.S. Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy..."
With the Veterans of Foreign Wars winning their case in the Supreme Court concerning the Mojave Cross in the deserts of California and Congress deeding the acre of ground that the cross sits on to Henry and Wanda Sandoz, the Sandoz’s will transfer the deed to the Department of California of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States.
The Borderline Chapter of Arizona’s VFW Riders Committee is sponsoring a Run To The Cross on October 6th 2012. Arizona, California and Nevada VFW Rider’s are all involved in the joint Memorial Run October 6, 2012. This is the weekend of Columbus Day and is a 3 day holiday for some Federal Workers.
We are still working on details for the Memorial Run to the Cross and will have more to pass along as we get more information from our Neighbors.
ANY and EVERY veteran rider is invited to be involved!
