Vegas PBS Keeping Kids Fit 5K Race Early Registration Event
During the two weeks of the Olympic Summer Games, Vegas PBS encourages families to get active and fight the rise in childhood obesity by registering early for its “Keeping Kids Fit” 5K Run & 1 Mile Walk. Interested participants and their families who register in-person at Vegas PBS from Monday, July 30 to Friday, August 10, 2012 during business hours will receive a 20 percent discount on two or more race registrations. They will also receive a free Vegas PBS Keeping Kids Fit t-shirt (while supplies last). For more information, please contact Vegas PBS at 702-799-1010. Families and Individuals can register from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday – Friday, from July 30 through August 10, 2012 Vegas PBS will host its third annual 5K Run & 1 Mile Walk to benefit Keeping Kids Fit, an educational outreach program targeting childhood obesity. The event will kick-off at 8 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, at the Vegas PBS building, 3050 E. Flamingo Road. One hundred percent of the proceeds from the 5K Run & 1 Mile Walk will benefit Vegas PBS Keeping Kids Fit, a long-term program that addresses childhood obesity. To date, more than 65,000 children, parents, caregivers and teachers have participated in exercise and nutrition workshops hosted by Vegas PBS. The website to date has generated more than 57,000 views.
