National Night Out Block Party at Providence

A fun and educational evening is planned to raise crime prevention awareness, strengthen neighborhood spirit and unity, and foster community-law enforcement partnerships. The free National Night Out Block Party at Providence will be Tuesday, Aug. 7 from 6 pm. to 8 p.m. at Knickerbocker Park in the Providence master planned community.

The new park is located at 10695 Dorrell Lane. The National Night Out Block Party at Providence will feature exhibits, information and demonstrations from area first responders, plus vehicles and a helicopter to see, touch and explore. Participants include the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s (Metro) Northwest Area Command, Northwest Area Neighborhood Watch and Air Support; Las Vegas Fire and Rescue; Medic West; and UNLV’s Safe Community Partnership. Festivities also will include video games through Game Truck of Las Vegas, deejay, volleyball, soccer, and P.D., the Providence dog mascot. Farmers Insurance will provide free Kid ID Kits, and Planet Interactive will operate a fire.
