CSN Preps Individuals for the U.S. Naturalization Exam

Free 12-Week Course Funded by the Federal Adult Education and Family Literacy Act The College of Southern Nevada is offering a free 12-week course to provide individuals with the learning tools necessary to prepare for the U.S. naturalization exam to become a U.S. citizen. The program, in its second year, was funded in 2012 through a grant from the Adult Education and Family Literacy Act, Title II Workforce Investment Act. The course will focus on the civics content needed for the exam, including history and government, as well as practicing oral and written communication skills through sample testing and mock interviews. The course is hosted at two CSN locations: CSN’s Sahara West Center, located at 2409 Las Verdes St., Las Vegas 89102, and the CSN Green Valley Tech Center, which is located at 1560 W. Warm Springs Rd., Henderson, 89014. Prospective participants must register for an orientation session to determine eligibility through a reading assessment placement. Individuals interested in these classes can pre-register for an orientation session online at csn.edu/workforce, by phone at 702-651-4487 or in-person at the Sahara West Center.
