  • Print

The Foundation for Educational Hope, benefiting Innovations International Charter School of Nevada (IICSN), will host its third annual Un-Masking the Mind Art Auction and Fundraiser at the Stan Fulton Building on the UNLV campus on Saturday, Oct. 29 from 6 to 9 p.m. The live auction will feature more than 25 colorful, decorative Mardi Gras-style masks, some which have been designed and painted by celebrities and local artists, including teachers at IICSN. Celebrities often autograph the masks creating a one-of-a-kind collectors piece. This year’s auction will include masks autographed by “The Tonight Show” host Jay Leno, country music stars Blake Shelton, Jerrod Niemann, Chris Young and Chuck Wicks, comedic hypnotist Marc Savard and Las Vegas television personalities Heidi Hayes, John Hauck and Brian Loftus. All masks will be on display prior to the start of the auction. Antonio Fargas, recognized as Huggy Bear from the 1970’s hit television show “Starsky and Hutch,” will be the master of ceremonies for the evening. In addition to the live auction, a silent auction will take place throughout the evening. Items include a one night stay, dinner and show tickets for two at Hooters Hotel and Casino, Nevada Coin and Jewelry items, four tickets to the 2012 Sam’s Town 300 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and two cuts and styles from Scandals Salon and Day Spa. Funds raised during the event will go towards the purchase of classroom supplies such as textbooks, desks, physical education equipment and art supplies.
