Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A not so appetizing review for a downtown coffee and pretzel stand. Contact 13's Tricia Kean looks at the list of violations in our Dirty Dining report.

The Southern Nevada Health District calls it a critical violation, no hot water inside Popolini. It's a small stand located at the Fremont Street Experience, right in front of the Four Queens Hotel and Casino.

Inspectors say employees were unable to properly wash their hands because of the lack of hot water. In all, Popolini was slapped with 46 demerits, forcing it to shut down. Anything more than 40 demerits equals an automatic closure.

The stand was also cited for a dirty pretzel oven, a cooler covered in food debris, and a sticky liquid pooling under the smoothie machine. Inspectors also found food not properly stored, expired milk, and Parmesan cheese covered in grease and dirt. And there was no person-in-charge, available during the inspection.

Contact 13 couldn't reach anyone at the business. But Popolini does have a partnership with the Four Queens, which provides restrooms for customers.

The casino says it has nothing to do with the stand's day-to-day operations, but is aware of the issues and "...in light of these findings, is taking a more active role by working with the Health Department on a resolution."

The Health District tells Contact 13, Popolini remains closed for now, but a re-inspection is scheduled for Friday.
