BBB reports surge in phone scam
The Better Business Bueau says they're seeing a surge in an old scam. It's the fake tech support caller which preys on senior citizens.
The scammer calls up claiming to be with a well known company like Microsoft. They claim a virus has been detected on your home computer and that they can remove it for a fee.
The BBB reminds anyone who gets a call like this, never to give out any credit card or other financial information over the phone.
