Local woman refunded for dental work after major frustrations

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Dental work can be expensive, so it's important you're happy with the work. One valley woman paid thousands, but says she didn't get what she paid for. That's when she reached out to Call for Action.
"Are you for real? I thought people don't treat other people like this," says Candace Palmerston.
She says she was fed up. Her troubles all started last summer.
"I was getting a lower bridge done. And my lower bridge was loose that I had for 40 years," says Candace.
Candace says she paid around $2,000 for all the work. And the office put in a temporary bridge, while the new one was made. But Candace says it took longer than expected.
"It was like five months," says Candace.
Candace says she hit the phones, calling the dental office again and again. But there was always a delay or an excuse as to why it wasn't done yet.
"Something wasn't right. It was like no one was listening to me," says Candace.
Finally back in October, the permanent bridge was done and put in. But now, just three months later, Candace says the bridge is already coming loose.
"I was eating a piece of cheese and this tooth moved," says Candace.
She says, after paying so much money, she expected better. That's when she decided to contact Action News. And she was shocked with the results, after our Call for Action volunteers reached out to the dentist office.
"Within 24 hours they called and said, you're our best friend and we love you dearly. Please, we have all this money we want to return to you," says Candace.
In the end, she was refunded more than $500, and she plans to find a new dentist.
"You guys make such a difference. I just couldn't believe someone had listened to me. And you did. You're like the voice for the little people," says Candace.
