What to know about e-receipts
Many retailers these days offer e-receipts. An electronic receipt sent to your email. It makes it easier to file them away until they're needed for returns, warranties or your taxes.
But the Better Business Bureau has a warning. The BBB says before signing up, find out how a retailer plans to keep your information secure. You’ll want to check to see if the business plans on selling your information to third-parties.
Also, beware of phishing scams. Thieves have been known to send fake e-mails, posing as retailers or banks, claiming there are problems with a purchase in order to gain your personal information.
