Ford sticking throttles
A Contact 13 consumer alert for Ford owners. Some Taurus and Mercury Sable models are being investigated for sticking throttles.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is looking at the 2000 to 2003 model years. It's investigating a potential problem that can cause the engine to keep running as if the gas pedal were pressed, even when it's not.
Up to 310,000 cars may be affected. There is no official recall yet. Investigators will determine whether the problem is bad enough to cause a recall.
