Air travel expected to be rough this holiday
Higher fares and longer lines are predicted for air travelers this holiday season.
Experts say travelers can expect to pay more for a ticket, meaning it's a good idea to book your travel as soon as possible. And with more travelers around the holidays, planes are expected to be full.
Consumer Affairs spoke with Dean Headley, Airline Quality Rating co-author and marketing professor at Wichita State University He says December typically has one of the worst industry performance scores of any month. Especially when you factor in the weather which can lead to major delays and cancellations.
But despite all that, Headley says the 2011 holiday travel season was a pretty good year for airline performance and data suggests that trend has continued into 2012.
