ATM fees up
ATM fees are rising to new levels. Financial research firm BankRate found that ATM surcharges have risen four percent since last year, hitting a record high of $2.50.
This is the eighth straight year these fees are up. At the same time, BankRate also found less than half of U.S. banks now offer free non-interest checking accounts.
