Store brands vs. name brands
Buying store brands instead of name brands can lead to big savings.
Consumer Reports did a blind test of 19 different products and found you can save an average of 25 percent off your grocery bill when buyng store brands. And the good news news is the quality of store brands is improving.
A good example is both Target's Up & Up Paper Towels and WalMart's White Cloud Toilet Paper have rated "excellent" in Consumer Reports' tests.
