Window blinds recall
The death of a child has prompted the recall of some window blinds. A 2-year old Michigan girl was reportedly strangled by the cord from a vertical blind.
This recall involves all Blind Xpress custom-made vertical blinds. The blinds were sold at various blind specialty stores in Michigan, Ohio and Indiana from January 1995 through December 2011 for between $16 and $380.
But the Consumer Product Safety Commission is reminding everyone that all blinds should come with a cord-tensioning device. The device attaches to the wall or floor to help prevent a child from wrapping their neck around the cord.
To report a dangerous product, call the Consumer Product Safety hotline at (800) 638-2772.
