A record $478 million judgment has been handed down against the marketers behind 3 major get-rich-quick infomercials.

They are John Beck's Free and Clear Real Estate System, John Alexander's Real Estate Riches in 14 Days and Jeff Paul's Shortcuts to Internet Millions. The Federal Trade Commission says the defendants deceived close to one million consumers with phony claims and are also banned for life from the infomercial and telemarketing business.

The Order represents the largest litigated judgment ever obtained by the agency. The FTC works for consumers to prevent fraudulent, deceptive, and unfair business practices and to provide information to help spot, stop and avoid them. To file a complaint, call 1-877-FTC-HELP (1-877-382-4357).
