Gerber recall
We have a Contact 13 Consumer Alert. Gerber Gear is recalling nearly 120,000 Machetes. The problem is the blade can come off the handle during use, posing the chance of users cutting themselves.
There's been at least 24 reports of the machete breaking. The recall involves the Gerber Bear Grylls Parang Machete. It has a curved blade, 13.5 inches in length. The handle is a dark gray textured rubber grip.
It was sold at sporting goods stores nationwide. Gerber will provide a free replacement. For more information, contact Gerber toll-free at (877) 314-9130.
